30 April
Novice & President Races

Today saw the running of the Novices & Presidents Handicap races for 2005.
Weather was fine and a bit breezy, ground conditions firm but not too hard under foot.
The handicapper's times were overall well done, with only 2 runners coming in around 1 minute ahead of the main bunch. It was pleasing to see most Seniors, Vets & Colts finishing within a 5 minute window. The under-11s handicap race was a chase for the 2 boys who had a large gap to catch the 2 girls who were determined to keep there lead.
Congratulations to our winners: Christine Taylor, presidents women; David Henry, novice men; Tim Armstrong, presidents men; Phillipa Bedlington, under-17.
Note: There were no Women novice this year. The Plowman Trophy (under 11) was won by Danielle McLean.
