Mangaroa Handicap Road Race *(Runner Ladder Race)

Well done to Steph Robinson who won the womens race again this year, but it was well deserved with her fastest time in quite a few years! Congratulations also go to Kevin Thompson who won the mens race and just pipped Stephen Mair at the post! The handicapping was very good this year with the winners of both the womens and mens races having to work for the win.

Saturday 28th April
Lion Foundation Rotorua Marathon & 10km Event, Rotorua

Congratulations to Brian Garmonsway who placed 8th in the full marathon run in a very good time of 2:45:17 (PB). An excellent result especially considering it was the NZ marathon championship race this year. Also running well in the marathon was Ken McNatty in 4:17:53 (9th place in M65-69), Bill Barclay in 4:34:07 and Dave Hood who with a twisted knee gritted his teeth and finished the race in 4:35:46.

In the marathon walk, Jackie Wilson did a very good time of 5:35:27 (1st place in F65-69) and Jenny Lippross also didn't muck around finishing in 5:51:39 (4th in F60-64).

In the half marathon walk, Jon Roskvist had the second fastest time of 2:23:19 but placed 3rd due to rules of order over the line regardless of mat time. Well done Jon!
