WHAT IS A TURKEY TROT?
It’s an event where you estimate your time for the distance being walked and results are decided on how close you finish to your estimate.
The catch is that nobody is allowed to wear a watch, use timers on their phones or receive side line advice on their progress times!
Competitive and Recreational walkers can participate in this 'Turkey Trot' walked in conjuction with the University Relays.
All entry fees will be covered by the club.
VENUE: Queen Elizabeth Park, near Paraparaumu
DISTANCE: 6km for all ages.
COURSE: Out and back along the sealed road within the park.
Prizes for first female and first male.
2023 Whitaker's Chocolate Walk Information
Competitive and Recreational walkers can participate in this 'Turkey Trot' walked in conjuction with the Moonshine Relay.
All entry fees will be covered by the club.
VENUE: Trentham Memorial Park.
DISTANCE: 3.5km for all ages.
COURSE: Starting in Trentham Memorial Park, walkers will go clockwise around the main field then cross over the stop bank into Moonshine Park and head along the sealed road towards Moonshine Road.
At the turn-around head back to TMP, and complete the clockwise loop of the main field.
Walkers will not be judged, but the race manager will be watching for ‘running’. He will also be happy to offer any comments on style (if asked).
2025 Moonshine Turkey Trot Information
This is an inter-club road race organised by Trentham United Harriers and Walkers Club.
VENUE: Trentham Memorial Park, Upper Hutt.
There are A Grade and B Grade race options open to Competitive and Recreational members.
Entry fees are covered by your annual subscription.
Full details of the event, including race start times will be available on the Upcoming section of the club website Home page a few weeks before the event.
The A grade races will be fully judged, and any disqualified walker will be allowed to finish and moved to B grade events.
